Abstract:Objective: Discussing the feasibility of optimizing the 18F-FDG PET/CT emission scan duration by using the list-mode acquisition. Method: Both the list-mode and sino 18F-FDG PET/CT examinations were performed on 22 patients with a weight-based injected activity(7.4 MBq/kg). PET images of different emission scan durations from 40 s to 180 s were obtained by the list-mode raw data reconstruction. SUVmax and SUVmean of the liver ROIs of different scan durations were analyzed by using SPSS 16. Result: SUVmax and SUVmean declined as the acquisition duration increased. No significant differences were found among the groups which emission scan durations were more than 80 s. Conclusion: Optimized scan duration improved the examination efficiency. The list-mode acquisition which could reflect the dynamic relationship of emission scan duration and image quality would be an effective method to determine the suitable scan duration.
