Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the early toxicity of anthracycline on heart through observing the main coronary artery, branches and flow reserve(CFR) by transthoracic coronary artery echocardiography. Methods: Sixty-three patients, who had malignant tumor diagnosed by pathology or cytology(lung cancer), were treated with anthracycline randomly. The same dose of anthracycline was used in the same kind of disease. The left ventricle ejection fraction(LVEF), E/A, the electrocardiogram(ECG), CFR and diameter of the main coronary artery and branches were detected in group before treated with drug and after treatment. Results: The LVEF, E/A, CFR before treated with drug were not altered in the group, the same as the diameters of the main coronary artery, the branching and the ECG. After treatment, the second cycle namely appears the CFR value to reduce, is longer along with the treatment cycle, the CFR value is lower. The third cycle appears E/A value to reduce. The fourth cycle appears the LVEF drop and the ECG change. Conclusion: It is effective to monitor the early toxicity effect of anthracycline on heart by transthoracic coronary artery echocardiography.
